Abstract
The author injected vinylite into the pulmonary vessels of 53 cases of Korean children to make cast specimens. The specimens were classified by the number of branches, originations, shapes, directions and interrelationship between branches and the data thus obtained were analyzed statistically and dominant and variant types were observed.
1. Right pulmonary artery branched into superior, middle and inferior lobe. The types of branches in each lobe were as follows, 9 types in superior lobe, 6 types in middle lobe and 4 types in inferior Iobe.
2. Right superior pulmonary vein branched into superior and middle lobe, and right inferior pulmonary vein into inferior lobe. The types of branches iii each lobe were as follows, 16 types in superior lobe, 7 types in middle lobe and 9 types in inferior lobe.
3. Left pulmonary artery branched into superior and inferior lobe. 9 types of branches were observed in each lobe.
4. Left superior pulmonary vein branched into superior lal~e and Ieft inferior pulmonary vein into inferior lobe. 10 and 4 types of branches were observed respectively.
